b) I have chosen to create a 2D animation using both frame-by-frame and motion paths in Abode Photoshop. All of the characters' movements will be frame-by-frame and the background will move along a motion path. As it is set in a forest the background will consist of 4 layers of trees, 3 behind the action and 1 in front, i also want to physically paint these layers and then digitally join them together to create a looping backdrop.
c) The genre of my animation is fantasy, adventure and I have chosen a sketchy, hand-made, Disneyesque style to appeal to younger audiences but also older viewers as it will hopefully give them a nostalgic feel.
d) The narrative itself involves my character Eve, an anthropomorphic deer, walking through the forest pulling a wooden wagon behind her, inside it contains a stuffed toy bear, a sun hat and a cake. It is unclear where exactly she is travelling to until the end of the animation. Along the way she manages to lose all three items in various ways; the toy bear is given to a weeping rabbit boy, the cake is stolen by an owl when it falls out the wagon and the sun hat is given to a badger lady as she needs shade from the sun. Once Eve reaches her destination she is greeted by her girlfriend Flo, a fox, but he no longer has any gifts for her, instead she pulls out a flower from the ground and gives it to her and they hug.
- Back, neck or wrist strain injuries I could require from working with the computer and tablet, therefore I will be sure to take the recommended requirement of a break every 30 minutes. Also I will be sure to assume the correct posture when working, this includes having my feet flat on the floor and my eyes level with the top of the monitor (see diagram below).
- Eye strain/ vision damage, therefore I will make sure to adjust my screen settings so it is not too bright and minimise glare by slightly covering windows when the sun is shining.
- An electrical fire, so I will be sure that all the equipment I am working with has been checked and I will keep all liquids away from my workspace.
- Damage caused by the camera rig when photographing my backdrop panels, therefore I will check the equipment before using it and have another student helping me and to keep the rig still.
Here I am sitting correctly at my work area, I made sure I was comfortable and took regular breaks.
